eGovernment Competence Centre

The state capital of Düsseldorf has made it its goal to reduce bureaucracy and to further improve its service for its citizens and for companies. This also includes further expanding electronic access to the administration and the options for handling matters.

Under the leadership of the Head of the HR and Organisation department, Wilfried Kruse, the eGovernment Competence Centre was launched for this purpose. From there, the necessary steps are controlled in order to create the technical and organisational requirements in the municipal administration. It also serves as an exchange and knowledge platform between authorities, citizens and companies.

In the spring of 2006, the EU Commission launched the 'eGovernment Action Plan' under the framework of the "i2010 Initiative' for the pan-European access to electronic government services for the period until 2010. With the EU Services Directive it is asking the Member states to put the necessary legal and administrative regulations into force to meet the goals of the Directive by the end of 2009. The Directive aims to significantly simplify and facilitate free movement of services within the Community.

The state capital of Düsseldorf identifies with the goals of the EU Services Directive and is aiming to implement it in selected sub-areas as early as the beginning of 2009. In the various sections - navigation bar on the left - you will find information about the initiated projects and their organisation and results. You thus have the opportunity to accompany the state capital of Düsseldorf on its path to implementing the EU Services Directive.

The Virtual SME Office offers a suitable starting point for the state capital of Düsseldorf for further portal components to implement the EU Services Directive.
